Wen Zheng is an inventor & design entrepreneur, studied at RCA. She built her tech start-up Pogolab from scratch in 2013. She won Startup Award of the Year at Innovation RCA, an incubator funded by Sir James Dyson, & then received an Innovate UK Grant in 2015. Wen Zheng’s Pogolab have created an imaginary world of oral health that gives children a whole new horizon in how they understand & look after their mouths & teeth. All around the world chauvinism, religion, society, family and many other factors disturb, limit and take away women’s lives everyday. This problem seems to be far away from a satisfactory solution, but a powerful path starts with education. Discussing this issue with kids between eight and ten years old is a great opportunity to fight against the lack of personal concrete familiarity that individuals have with each other, because they are still open about the way they identify with others.
Elif Gengor's degree project for MA Industrial Design course in Central Saint Martins. Mom too is a research service solution, intended to find the cause of infantile colic through design interventions that explore possible various theories and suggestions from medical experts studying the condition. Tools like an air pressurised tummy massager, a back massager, an inflatable swaddle and a face-down infant carrier can be programmed to perform certain actions by researches.
Cookies : Hand-on Education Cookies project is bakery kits that optimized hand on play-based learning for children by combining of sensory integration and academic learning. Making cookie dough with bare handing aims to activate children's 7 sensories; touch, smell, taste, see, hearing, balance and movement. Together with easy academic lessons, mathematic, science and art are designed to fit in the process of making cookies which promote play-base learning through baking.
Alora is a wearable device has been developed using the latest technology to monitor a baby’s movements. The Alora baby bump monitor intelligently measures the patterns of baby’s movements then compares them everyday to ensure baby is doing well and will alert mum if the movement patterns differ. Alora can be connected to your phone to show friends and family all of baby’s movements throughout the pregnancy. Alora provides some reassurance for parents-to-be during such an unknown time.
Tilt was designed to stimulate more collaborative learning during lectures at universities which are normally very didactic. It encourages students to stand for collaborative teaching and sit during traditional lecturing, therefore breaking up the lecture, changing its momentum and allowing students to refocus their concentration on learning. Tilt’s worktop stays parallel to the ground, allowing students to change between the two teaching methods
Furrlingo and Slinguistics are designed to encourage families to learn foreign languages together in their daily routine. Furrlingo is an electronic toddler's soft toy with an interactive paw which enables it to activate a pre-recorded voice when it passes over the page or section of the Furrlingo multilingual book and sticker pack. Slinguistics is an interactive pregnancy belly band which becomes a baby carrier - a multifunctional design to encourage the parents to practice a foreign language.
